Rhinoplasty (Nose job)

Rhinoplasty, commonly known as a nose job, is a surgical procedure to change the shape, size or function of the nose. It may be performed for cosmetic reasons, to improve breathing, or both.

It may be suitable for adults who are unhappy with the appearance of their nose, have experienced injury or trauma, or have nasal obstruction or sinus problems. Rhinoplasty may not be suitable for everyone; this is assessed during your consultation based on your anatomy, medical history and expectations.

The Procedure

Anaesthetic

Rhinoplasty is performed under general anaesthetic for comfort and safety.

Surgical technique

A closed or open approach is used depending on your anatomy and surgical requirements.

Nasal reshaping

Bone, cartilage and soft tissues are reshaped to achieve the agreed surgical plan.

Typical duration

The procedure usually takes between 1–3 hours.

Completion & recovery

Once reshaping is complete, the incisions are closed and a nasal splint may be applied to support healing.
